Uganda: Hungry Baboon Kills 1-year-old Baby At Murchison Falls National Park

The baby boy, belonging to one of the rangers was reportedly playing in the yard when the “hungry” animal which “could have been looking for food” struck.

A year-old baby was attacked and killed by a baboon at Murchison Falls National Game Park in Uganda, police said.

The baby boy, Isaiah Ibrahim Enyel, belonging to one of the rangers was reportedly playing in the yard when the “hungry” animal which “could have been looking for food” struck.

Rangers were at the parade and his mother was in the kitchen according to the community conservation warden at Murchison Falls National Game Park, Wilson Kagoro.

“What happened was an accident and I think the child was playing at the same time the baboon was searching for food and ended up killing the child,” Kagoro said.

The child was badly injured on the stomach and the intestine came out. Kagoro said the baby died on the way to a medical facility.

“We knew where it was so we had to put it out of action because it would probably keep on doing the same thing,” he added.

In May 2018, a leopard snatched and ate a three-year-old child belonging to one of the rangers at the same park.
